Baltimore Business Focuses Support at Home for Breast Cancer
Fresh off coordinating relief aid for Oklahoma, Bobby’s Portable Restrooms Supports Ride Across Maryland
White Marsh, MD – Dick Gelfman’s Ride Across Maryland is in its second decade of helping families in Maryland touched by breast cancer – and Bobby’s Portable Restrooms is pleased to be a part of this great philanthropic tradition. A 2013 sponsor, Bobby’s Portable Restrooms is committed to making this year’s event as comfortable as it can for riders, concert attendees and festival musicians.
In the last ten years, Ride Across Maryland has donated more than $2 million to Komen for a Cure, MD Affiliate. Ride Across Maryland, now a grant making organization, can now provide financial support to various worthy breast cancer organizations across Maryland.
“We are proud to be associated with Ride Across Maryland,” says Bob Lang, CEO of Bobby’s Portable Restrooms. “What we donate in services and staff helps to off-set the cost of this great event – and that means more money goes directly to breast cancer-related organizations.”
The Ride Across Maryland is a motorcycle ride to Maryland destinations and this Saturday, June 1 riders will meet at the Mall in Columbia and later attend the fundraising and festivities at Blob’s Park in Jessup, Maryland. Those not participating in the ride can still purchase tickets for the all day music festival featuring eight bands, food, drink and merchandise vendors, health-related booths and activities for children. Tickets are $40 or $150 (VIP) and available via www.ticketmaster.com or on location at Blob’s Park. Gates open at 10AM.
Bobby’s Portable Restrooms will be visible and available on-location at the Mall in Columbia and on festival grounds.
“We are committed to giving back to the community as much as we can,” says Bob. “This is part of our mission and core principles at the company.”
Just last week, Bobby’s Portable Restrooms launched an independent aid drive for the victims of the Oklahoma tornado, which resulted in 16,000 pounds of non-perishables, including water, food, cat and dog food and supplies, blankets and cleaning supplies, which was driven to Moore, Oklahoma over the Memorial Day weekend.
